In my last week Egypt’s update, I included few tweets and comments on the controversial CBS’s interview with Egypt’s President Sisi. This week, however, there are more interesting and critical comments that I thought to post them separately here.
The questions were typical of what he gets from foreign media. In fact if there is one comment to be made of the question it is how old they are. Questions would have been the exact same ones in last 2013. No probing of anything beyond that.

This is problematic not just because Egypt is a complex society, but because there is no longer a Muslim Brotherhood to speak of, contrary to what its two propagandists and their Western cheerleaders dream of.

Which makes the image presented in the program even more problematic. There is no dispute among serious experts of the group that it has engaged in violence, there is also no debate among serious experts that this was led, funded, and organized by one set of MB leaders.

The 60 minutes interview narrowly framed the problem in Egypt as a battle between el-Sisi & the MB, & having the opposition only represented by them. The show also reinforced the problematic narrative that repression in our region is bad, mainly because it leads to radicalization pic.twitter.com/ucLYVeGl08

This is actually one of the worst interviews I’ve seen. I’m disappointed with the lack of research and information. More of a mouthpiece for a political organization. https://t.co/9xOoTfQWBz

Egyptian pilot entered the Israeli airspace while carrying out airstrikes against extremists in Sinai, so he was intercepted by IAF F-15 jet.
The radar lock was described as an attempt to identify friend or foe. After a few tense seconds the Egyptian pilot realised his error. pic.twitter.com/FHnBX0CXak

After preliminary investigations. Commander of Israeli air force was not satisfied, As he remarked that the squadron commander had not been sufficiently alert and had not carried out the set of punitive measures in order to avoid the Egyptian locking on the radar.

CBS failed miserably re Sisi interview,it only managed to generate more support for him in Egypt, choosing Mo Soltan the American MB as reference failed!
Seen here with his dad and Qardawi their spiritual god father, both called for destruction of USA, not fooling anyone anymore:) pic.twitter.com/2zfGQaIlaG— Hany Ragy (@Hragy) January 7, 2019
